Pancreas
The Pancreas is located in the middle of the abdomen behind the stomach. It is shaped like a side ways question mark. Its main function is to regulate blood sugar levels.
Insulin: Given to diabetics whose Pancreas fails to make insulin.
Glucose Tolerance Test: used on diabetics to test insulin levels of Pancreas.
Type 2 Diabetes: Pancreas produces normal to high levels of insulin, but cells fail to respond to it.
Insulinoma: tumor of the islets of Langerhans cells of the Pancreas.
Type 1 diabetes: Pancreas stops insulin production.
